Post Show Funnel
No surprise here – get your Post Show Funnel in order. Below are the templates I use in my Boomerang and I simply modify them to fit the event.
Use these as a starter and make them sound like you: venue, contact, relationship with that person – a lot of variables – and it is an applicable funnel for everyone in this group.
Day 1
Sub: What a Night!
<name>,
What a fantastic time we had with the <company> gang in <city> tonight.
<something cool about the room set up>
<something cool about the venue> It’s a high bar to set
for the rest of our year… we’ll manage.
All the best, <name>

Sub: <group> is Under My Skin 🙂
<name>,
I knew this was going to happen… was telling my wife about the
show for <group> the other night and then I had a dream about <volunteer and something funny about him>.
Oh man… was never so happy to wake up in my own bed.
<something that the head honcho said to us>.
<another mention of someone from their show>.

Sub: Made Me Think Of You
<name>,
Have you ever had the experience where you learn a new word and then it’s used the next day in an article, or a conversation?
Well this came across my news feed today and made me think about the fun we had a few weeks ago with <group>.
I certainly wouldn’t have given this a second look last month and now, it’s interesting to see this perspective.
Thanks again for the great time, <name>. Give our best to the gang.
Best,
Barry Friedman

Sub: Request: Would You Please…
<name>,
Just back from shows in <city 1> and <city 2> – <funny story about last 2 shows>.
I hope life has landed better than ever for the <Make up of Audience> that we met at the <venue>.
I’m sure everyone has let go of images of bullwhips, garden weasels, machetes, and paddle balls flying much to close to their bodies.
<Name>, I wanted to ask if you would be willing to jot down a few thoughts about our show on some <Company> letterhead.
A few words on booking process, customization, actual show, audience reaction, and professionalism. Sure would be helpful for prospective clients to know that we hit a home run for a company with a 000
(something unique about the company).
I know I’ve dropped a few unexpected emails your way in the last few weeks – I don’t usually do that – just seems that <group> keeps popping into my conversations, news feed, and even dreams. I’m going to stop now!
Thanks so much for the entire experience – really was special.
Best,
Barry Friedman

PS… I wanted to toss out one more thought I had – if <company> does any trade shows and has a big booth, think about giving us a corner with a small stage and we’ll pack that place with prospects we can entertain and inform a few times each hour. It’s a specialty of ours and they head into conversations with the booth staff with really good questions – warm and ready!
Six Month After
Sub: Getting Ready for a Great Conference?
Hi <name>,
It’s been just over 6 months since our show for you in <city> and something tells me you might be planning the next event.
While no one could possibly be as funny and talented as the act you had last year (right?!?!), I wanted to let you know that we are so well-connected and would be happy to help you with selecting entertainment if you are planning to do that again. (If you were booked through a planner mention that THEY are excellent resources for entertainment).
Variety Acts, Speakers, Comedians… After 30+ years in this rodeo we have met them all and could save you a lot of time and frustration. Not looking for a fee, of course… just our way of lending a hand and saving you and <group> some time and frustration.
As always, just a call or email away.
Best,
Barry Friedman
