Week 8 – Day 4 Homework

OK… you’ve heard three interviews with producers – the kind that could easily book you if they see a fit for their client.

What did you take away from those 3 interviews? What story are you telling yourself about working with them? Write a few of the big stories in your ShowBiz Blueprint notes – and if you’re feeling brave, put them up on the FB group. I’d love to see what’s running around inside you right now.

While a lot of what we are doing in this course is about directly connecting with end-clients, I am a big fan of producers. Ultimately we should have a few of them that are our raving fans, frequent buyers, and trusted confidants.

After you get the stories about producers aligned with your career desires, it’s time to do some web research. Google around and get yourself familiar with some of the producers in your region.

Look specifically at:

  • Other acts on their website (Do you know any of them?)
  • Their clients (Do you have a connection with any of them?)
  • Are you LinkedIN to any of them (1st or 2nd level?)
  • What would it take for you to reach out to them? (Pieces in place? Confidence that you’re ready?)
  • Is this a producer you’d feel comfortable talking to? (Do you resonate with their brand?)
  • When you land a nice gig with an end-client, is this a producer you might turn the business over to as suggested on the Webinar? (It’s a great way in!)
