Money, politics, sex, and religion – we try to stay away from the hot topics but one of those needed to come front and center.

Muse on these prompts today – written or in your head – and let’s see what we can come up with:

Now look at those answers. Is there power in there or does it show a person in a weak posture around fees?

Now let’s look at what you can deliver to increase your value to the market. I could imagine:

  1. Follow up video
  2. VIP Meet and Greet
  3. Master class
  4. Live Q&A
  5. A webinar follow up if there is real content
  6. A PDF of a magic trick
  7. MP3 of a custom song
  8. 25 DVDs for the entertainment committee
  9. Take credit card for deposit/payment
  10. What else can you add?

Now, with a clear picture of how you got to your price, an understanding of your competition, and some ideas for your competitive advantage:

  1. What price would like to be at for the upcoming Holiday Season
  2. What stories will you have to overcome to get it out of your mouth
  3. What additional value will you add to your offers/proposals (“none” is a fine answer – it might just be time to raise your fees!)
  4. What will it mean to you to get that fee?
  5. What will the consequences be if you don’t raise your fee?

OK – a lot to contemplate. Give this some time – both in quiet contemplation and in moving life. There are deeper answer than the ones that come easy, I promise you that.

Remember that with a new price you are exposed to new clients. Yes – you will have to say goodbye to the people who knew you at your current price – and that’s fine. You aren’t here to stay in the same place, or to change their budgets. This is the change that you came here to get.
