We are back in the game and I’m so curious about what you came up with from yesterday’s homework.

I asked you to put find a few of the keywords you’d like to rank for and research what is currently holding top position. Then I asked you to brainstorm what you’d like to do to jump into the wake of that traffic.

How far did you get?

Did you do the research? Did you brainstorm ideas on how you could improve the content, length, user experience, or depth?

Did you get to the next stage and actually create the article?

We are all at different comfort levels in content creation (audio, written, video, webinar, etc). That makes it challenging to assign a one-size-fits-all homework. So every once in awhile, I leave an overflow day – and today that’s where we’re at.

If you completed the work – fantastic. Use today to take another swipe at it and see if you can tighten the focus and take everything one step deeper. Can you work in your keyword another time or two in a way that still reads naturally?

If you don’t have the completed piece in hand, use today to complete the assignment.

And finally, if you are just set that this not your thing and no amount of work is going to get you there, I want you to hire it out. Here is an excellent site with writers that do this stuff day in and day out. They’ll give you a form to fill out and voilà, your homework will be done. In case you’re going to yell at me for not suggesting this first, take it easy. We have to expand our edges during this 10 weeks and there’s no way I’m going to cheat you out of the exploration.

Tomorrow we will find a place to post this piece of writing (and if you don’t have it, I’ll bring it back in a few days – keep working). By the end of next week you will have an article on a blog, directory, social network, or guest post. Put that in the bank.

A content creation calendar is an important asset of a successful business. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel, you just have to true it, put a better tire on it, and make sure it gets some use.

Hey – if you finished your piece and have it ready – would you share it with the group? Post it somewhere – even a Google Doc. I’d love to see what came to you.
