Week 3 – Day 4 Homework

[wlm_firstname] – let’s dig in with an action step.

Step 2 of the Five Part Sales Funnel might be where your inner voice speaks up. It might be giving you messages that keep you from reaching out – or limit how you show up by regurgitating some old stories. I’m going to ask you to be conscious of that and do a completion the moment you recognize a story.

Simple. Fast. Then move on.

I trust you researched an event or function of some sort yesterday. Today I am going to put you into action.

Reach Out

My preferred order of connection is:

  1. LinkedIN – Do I have a 1st or 2nd level connection to anyone involved in the planning/organization of this event. If so – YIPPEE! Your Connection Collateral is in good order and you can use that. Ask for an introduction and then make a time to connect about the event. I always prefer phone first – it’s a chance for them to talk and you to listen.
  2. Conversational Call – Outlined heavily in Module 2 and revisited in Module 3. Clean up your mindset going in, don’t connect your success to the outcome, and start getting notches on your belt!
  3. U. S. Priority Mail or Fed Ex – It has worked for me to go old school, although I put it in 3rd place for a reason: it takes days and I can lose steam. There is a huge surprise factor to this as it’s so unusual. This can pave the way, quite effectively in fact, to a first phone call.
  4. Email – Almost impossible to get a connection going this way. Often people will mark these as Spam because they are unrequested and people are protective of their inbox. I’m going to guide you away from this because any of the 3 above are a much brighter way to show up. And, if you want to do it – know that it IS LEGAL – business to business blind emails happen all the time.

Today is Stage 5 of the Hero’s Journey:

CROSSING THE THRESHOLD.  At the end of Act One, the hero commits to leaving the Ordinary World and entering a new region or condition with unfamiliar rules and values.

You’ll enter this with a clean mindset. Review that and make sure that you are clearly calling to see if there’s a fit and your feelings of success will not hinge on the result of the call. Make it, start getting those notches on your belt.

I’ll stop now so that you can start. Let me know how it goes. I’ll be checking the Facebook Group.
