Platinum Podcast – 06

Here we go into our 2nd lesson on Facebook Ads.

This week we will dive into the Power Editor and create a Campaign, Ad Set, and an Ad.

A lot happens, take notes, use the pause button, and stay up.

Note – you can do ALL of this without spending a cent on Facebook Ads.

But do it – feel the power of this platform just so your brain can start imagining how to best use it.

Here are my notes. Might be useful to print them out and take notes or follow along.

Part 2 of our series on Facebook Ads

Running Time: 49:13

Action Steps

  1. Take 50 minutes to follow this lesson and create an ad Campaign, Ad Set, and Ad.
  2. Go all the way through with it – a few times – and get really comfortable with it.
  3. Create a 2nd ad for the Campaign and Ad Set – you can simply select the ad (click to the left of it from the list) and then select Duplicate Ad. Change the picture only – keep everything else the same.
  4. Send me a screenshot of your ad once you’ve done this!
  5. Use the comments below to talk about questions/challenges that are coming up for you right now. I want you to have this in place before next week

  1. Excited about this.

One thing I do is create tours for my school assembly.

But I only have principal’s emails.

But if I were creating a tour in say Santa Barbara I could target Moms of Elementary kids, in just that city. Going to hit some PTA moms.
    Headlines
Are you a PTA mom trying to get the best bang for the PTA buck?
How to spend $1.50 on your kids to promote character…
Live shows brought to your kids school for less then $2 per child.
On tour, just one week in December, don’t miss this opportunity for your children.

Question- to upload emails to target, I would need the email they associate with their facebook account?
What about uploading first and last names?
First last + name of business?

    1. Hi O, glad you are jumping into this. It’ll be SO good to test and kill the “I wonder if…” thing.

I doubt many principals log into Facebook with their school email – that would be a bad principal.

In Santa Barbara, you can target Moms within 25 miles AND Parent of school kids aged 6-9 (that’s a category!) and use your headline (which is pretty good!). You should send them to an Unpublished Facebook Post (covering this next week) because it’ll be SUPER cheap to keep them on Facebook vs. sending them off FB. In there you should have the CTA for them to contact their PTA, principal, or whoever does the booking and have them call right away. I bet you anything you can do a week with that targeting for less than $10.

Uploading – yes, you’ll have to have the address they use for Facebook. Don’t sweat it – go with the ads for now. We’ll talk about retargeting next week and you’ll be able to follow them (think funnel) once they’ve seen your Unpublished Facebook Post (also called Dark Post). You don’t need to upload the names – just a list of email addresses.

  2. Hey Barry

Not sure if you know the answer to this. I was following you on creating the ads and I’ve noticed for some options are greyed out and it doesn’t allow me to choose the options.
    For example:

    In the Ad Set
Ad Scheduling – I cannot choose the”Run ads all the time” or “Run ads on schedule”

Optimization & Delivery – I cannot choose the Frequency Cap

Do you know why Facebook does this?

Also, 2nd question – I’ve narrowed my audience Potential Reach to 36,000 – is that not enough audience? What is the range that we should aim for?

Look forward in hearing from you soon.

    Cheers,

    Tracy
