  1. If I get an inquiry my first sentence in my email response has always been “thanks so much for the inquiry”. I assumed it was being nice, but after hearing this, I feel that’s been an unconscious self sabotage. Removing it from my vernacular immediately.

  2. wow this is powerful. Thanks for this Episode Baz. Never allowing your STATUS, POSITION, YOUR BRAND, YOUR PRICE to take a hit. That’s a big one for me.

    Question tho – When you mention using phrases such as – I hope you will, If you would only, Can I please… in conversations and emails will lower our status.

    What kind of phrases would you use instead?

    1. The thing about those phrases is they come from the lower status. What are they from the higher status?

      It’s hard to give exact examples because it’s always context dependent, but here are some examples:

      – (I hope you will) Attached is, or enclosed you’ll find…
      – (If you would only) See what dozens of clients have experienced…
      – (Can I please) I will call you at…

  3. I wince when I tell people our price. I am always thinking they can’t afford it! At the same time, I keep thinking we have a fantastic show that blows people away when they see it. These are completely conflicting ideas that take away from our status.
