Day 21

The Mindset

The worst thing about fighting for your limitations is you’ll probably win. Over the past 3 weeks, we have taken on a new habit that can deeply serve you in every aspect of your life. The topics were fine and on point – and the fact is they were just topics. We could have done them about 21 other activities just as easily. What was happening, behind the scenes, is we were each increasing our capacity to see something, want it, and take consistent action toward getting it.

I never shared what it was exactly what I had sat on for too long. It’s exactly what we all just experienced: Show up daily, for 3 weeks, to create something valuable for a live audience. As a guy who made a good living from basically the same 90 minutes of comedy/juggling material, I had a big limiting belief that I couldn’t do it. Yet I have! I’ll do the feedback loop with my wife later today (thank you Annie, for attending all 21 days – I love you!). What’s also happened, as I promised you yesterday, is opportunity has come up that wouldn’t have without this. More on that in the bonus video coming out tomorrow (sleep in – it won’t be live)

As entrepreneurs, we play the biggest game imaginable. Telling a muggle what we do for a living usually stirs up for them a mixture of fear hidden under laughter, jealously hidden under doubt, and shame that they let their dreams fall off the truck hidden under stupid questions.

Your commitment to being ALL IN is a tribute to who you are as a person. You have the desire to impact more people than your 9-5 peers can understand and in the last 21 days you have shown your true colors. My invitation going forward is that you take the time to memorize your mission (I create a world of __________), fall in love with the self-critique feedback loop (with others too, when possible), and get your Big Why (at the end of all those ‘so that…’) tattooed onto your arm – or put it up in your office right in front of you.

Today, let’s review and take a measured fast-action commitment to go forward with all we’ve learned and done.

The Fast-Action

  • Which days did you ace and which ones did you find something else to do instead?
  • In each of those (the work we’ve done and skipped) there are clues to the combination of the lock that opens the door to our greatest gifts and abilities.
  • COLIN QUESTION (How do we keep going!)
  • I swear we didn’t plan this!
  • Do not go back to sleep!
  • Repeat the 21 days – cut the cost of the program in half by doing it again!
  • Proclaim your new ability (abilities) to yourself, publicly, and to at least one trusted person.
  • Always return to the Mission (The What – Day 3), the Feedback Loop (The How – Day 10), Big Why (The Why – Day 15)
  • Have the slide deck on your phone with a one-tap start
  • Support – reach out for support. Use this page to leave a comment if you want support.
  • Accountability – be real with someone who is also being real
  • Tomorrow you’ll find a bonus video on the resources page – please watch it.
  • Consider it Day 22.
  • It’s a bit of a celebration
  • Some extra questions answered
  • And a request I have of you
