Day 11

The Mindset

There is a linchpin that connects you to the success you have. We all have one.

It’s a belief (or a story about that belief as we have discovered), a practice, a routine, a rhythm, an operating system, or a line in the sand that has connected the success we have, to our life.

Considering the freakishly-grand opportunities, and deadly slow periods as the outliers that we throw out, the median of our success is directly proportional to the strength of our linchpin.

The dominating factor that determines the strength of your linchpin is your commitment to a decision-making process that supports your mission. Above any other factor, it’s your ability to say YES to the right offers, and more importantly, NO to the wrong offers, that will allow you to carry more success with ease.

So the question becomes, and it’s the thesis to a powerful book called The One Thing that we’ll summarize and take fast-action on today: what is the one thing that makes everything else easier or unnecessary?

The Fast-Action

  • It’s intimidating to think about The One Thing – if you give it too much time.
  • If you trust yourself, your gut instinct, my guess is that you know what it is.
  • Recall a time when a decision was simple and it changed so much in your life – maybe even gave you a new level of income, freedom, intimacy, health, or joy.
  • Maybe it’s the origin story of how you became an entertainer
  • Remember that it’s the one thing that makes everything else easier or unnecessary.
  • It’s not a big written plan.
  • And since it’s hard to do one because it seems so big, we are going to take fast-action on 3.
  • What’s the one thing for your health?
  • What’s the one thing for your money?
  • What’s the one thing for your relationship?
  • And you don’t have to take any action right now!

Take this wisdom from the author of The One Thing, as a guiding light. I often ask myself, “What can I outsources, stop, or modify to free up my time and energy?”
