Week 1 – Day 4 Homework

In the module for this week we talked about the two tracks we’ll ride in this course: Fastest Path to Cash, and The Big Picture.

After looking at the cost of perfectionism in your life, career, and relationships, I want to give you some guidance on expanding on the first track.

Fastest Path to Cash

What can you apply right now?

  • List 3 ideas you’ve had since the webinar that you can act on immediately.

Use relationship/network

  • List 3 past clients that were happy with you. What step will you take today to connect with them? You’re not asking for business – you are dropping a note, phone call, text, or email and reminding them of the good time you had.

Looking into your history

  • This is like the last one but focused more on an event. Personnel changes, sometime annually, can shift the nature of a business relationship. The relationship with the person should be nurtured over the life of your career. The relationship with the venue or event should live on as well. What events can you investigate and rekindle the connection?

Low hanging fruit

  • What are you looking past? What are a few opportunities where you can earn money, or more importantly, relationships? There are so many ways that the likes of us are needed in our community – and many of them can serve to raise our reputation. And that, depending on the size of your city, can be a 6-figure tip.

Take risks – get proposals out the door

  • We are going to learn an entirely new paradigm in seeking and introducing our services about half way through this program. For now, however, I am going to encourage you to put proposals out. We’ll head further up the food chain with the new proposal system but for now, get proposals to existing clients out the door. Chalk up the count – how many are you willing to risk?

Requires dropping perfectionism

  • Yesterday we looked at perfectionism. Where are you at? Can you share one example of how you’re seeing perfectionism differently right now and something you’re putting out into the world that’s not perfect? Post it to our group if you’re feeling brave.

Typically for similar fee

  • Don’t worry about the money right now – you are sending yourself a powerful message about accomplishment, action, and trust. That’s right – I want you to take the gigs that come in from this homework; we’ll rewire the pricing and target market/buyers in the weeks to come.

Jump start your confidence/trust

  • This exercise is to encourage fast action. Getting out of your own way and experiencing movement. Cause and effect. Action and reaction. It’s the antithesis of what so many entertainers have done in their career.

How is it to stand in the place of proactivity? In my live interview with you I said that we’d pick one product to focus on for these 10-weeks and you’ll then be able to apply it to anything in your life.

This begs the question, of course, where else in your life can you apply these actions?
