Day 06

Mindset

My beliefs are ground-zero for who I become. While they don’t produce the results, they are the foundation for the thoughts I have, which lead to the action I take, and that determines the results I get.

My beliefs were established long ago and, to a large extent, I travel through life looking for opportunities to validate them. Only when I encounter something that I dearly want, and am clear that my beliefs are standing between me and getting it, will I entertain the notion of changing my belief.

I have found nothing more powerful than Bill Lamond’s Completion Process for gathering up the supporting data of a current belief and deleting it in favor of a new belief. It’s as close to real life magic as I’ve ever known – and I’ve known some great magicians.

Defining the belief that is between me and what I want is the work – and the best way to do this work is by dropping my reputation, checking my ego, and consciously completing the belief before my brain gets in the way.

The Action

Let’s each bring up a limiting belief that we can easily identify – make it in the arena of health, wealth, or relationship.

  • Emotional aspect (the feeling state – identify)
    • What are the feelings that come up around this belief (Mad sad glad fear shame)
    • Get in touch with them
  • Physical piece (an ordeal of some sort)
    • What is a physical action you can take to represent this belief
    • What do you look like with this belief?
    • Does this belief make you want to scream, cry, hit, run, etc?
  • Mental aspect (bringing it into the consciousness – Completion)
    • State the old belief
    • What’s good about it (there is a lot good about it – acknowledge it!)?
    • What’s bad about it?
    • Who do you need to thank for the belief?
    • Who do you need to apologize to for the belief?
    • What else needs to be said to be complete with this belief?

INSTALLATION (of a new belief)

    • State the new belief
    • What’s good about it?
    • Who do I need to thank for it?
    • What else needs to be said to install this new belief?

GOING FORWARD

  • Consistency in practice
    • Don’t miss a chance to do this work on a limiting belief as they arise
    • Seek them out and run this – takes a few minutes at the most!
    • Cleaning these up shows you the next chapter of your life
  • Acknowledgment
    • “This is a time when I would have… and instead I…”
    • Repeat this a few times if it helps
    • Look for the smallest changes that might slip by
  • Inquiry: Is There is a Deeper Dive
    • What else is there about this belief that limits you
    • Run the steps again on that!

Do this on one limiting belief in each of the three categories

  • Health (exercise, food, body, physical ability, overall health)
  • Money (saving, earning, investing, giving away, spending)
  • Relationship (partner, self, audience, strangers, above/lateral/below)

There is easily a dozen you can do in each category – do one today as part of your Fast-Action. I’d love to read what happens for you.

Remember: This is a bucketing process – picture a murky pond filled with the water and water we’ve thrown into it our entire lives. Each of these steps drains the pond and our gold is easier to access.

  1. only limiting belief i can think of … i need to be in full control in partnerships, as people are not as trustworthy as i would like them to be.

i was always very open and was trusting people and gave them the same rights, when i would have had the chance to keep the power with me and each time it was used “against” me. i recently came to the conclusion to have that never happen again … which could lead to problems down the road, as it also limits. probably both ways have their negatives … barry?
